Programmer Guide

XtenWEB is an Active-X component that can be used by server-side scripts to send X10 commands to lights and other devices via a CP290 controller attached to a serial port of the server.  This allows easy implementation of web pages accessible from around the world that can control devices that are physically located near the server.

A typical programming environment would be VBscript or Jscript using Active Server Pages (ASP) to generate HTML web pages dynamically.  XtenWEB can also be used in non-web environments just as easily.

Best of all, XtenWEB is FREE!  A small donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation would be appreciated, but is not required - and the software is fully functional with no restrictions nor nag messages.

XtenWEB features include:

bulletIssue X10 commands (ON, OFF, DIM, BRIGHTEN)
bulletSaves English Device definitions for easy user interface
bulletSample web pages for quick implementation
bulletRequires an X10 CP290 controller attached to the server
bulletCan be used in any development environment that can reference Active-X components (Visual Basic, VBA-enabled office products, etc.)
